Dr. Michael Thomas is a transformation researcher of the first hour, who has worked intensively for thirty years, both theoretically and empirically, on various aspects of the upheaval in East Germany and the problems of the unification society. He worked at the Academy of Social Sciences until 1990, then at BISS e.V. (Berlin) and led and carried out numerous third-party funded projects.

Michael Thomas has been associated with the HSZG since the mid-2000s and has been a frequent guest at TRAWOS Institute events.

At the meeting at the TRAWOS Institute, they discussed joint research and events in the coming years.
