With the retirement of Prof. Dr. Eckehard Binas on 01.03.2022, a new director was elected at the TRAWOS Institute for Transformation, Housing and Social Spatial Development and appointed by the Rector.

The Institute Council held several meetings to discuss a successor and finally unanimously decided to propose Dr. Julia Gabler to the Rectorate as the new director.
The Rectorate has followed the proposal of the Institute Council and has appointed Dr. Julia Gabler as Institute Director for the period from 01.06.2022 to 28.02.2025.

With Dr. Julia Gabler, the management of the TRAWOS Institute is placed in experienced hands. Since 2015, she has been conducting research as a research associate in numerous projects on transformation processes in rural societies, gender perspectives and structural change. Her central concern as Director is to make the effective work of her colleagues at the TRAWOS Institute more visible with actors in regional practice and in the academic field.

Prof. Dr. Mandy Schulze + Prof. Dr. Raj Kollmorgen remain Deputy Directors of the Institute.
