Working visit to the National Research University "MEI" in Moscow

A working visit by Prof. Stefan Kornhuber to the National Research University "Moscow Energy Institute" (NFU MEI).

On April 29, Prof. Stefan Kornhuber, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, paid a working visit to the National Research University "Moscow Energy Institute" (NFU MEI). The aim was to revive long-standing good contacts and in particular the student and scientific exchange and to exploit future opportunities for cooperation.

As part of his visit, Prof. Stefan Kornhuber first gave a four-hour lecture on "Methods for measuring partial discharges (basics and applications)" for NFU MEI students at the Chair of Physics and Technology of Electrical Materials and Components. During the subsequent meeting with the head of the chair, Professor Serebrennikov, possibilities for cooperation between the MEI chair and the High Voltage Technology department of the HSZG, whose head is Professor Kornhuber, were discussed.

In addition, a reception was held at the NFU MEI's Department of International Relations as part of the visit. This was represented by the Director of the Center for International Education Programs, Professor Zhelbakov, and the Coordinator of International Academic Programs and Projects, Ms. Irina Kulik. During the meeting there was also a general exchange on possible fields of cooperation between the two universities in the field of electrical engineering. Several ideas for the introduction of academic mobility programs for students, lecturers and employees of both universities were formulated, which are currently being concretized together with the International Office of the HSZG.

The trip was funded by the Erasmus program of the European Union.
