The TRAWOS Institute on an interdisciplinary mission in Zittau
Members of the TRAWOS Institute used their team outing on August 24, 2023 to network with their colleagues in Zittau. During a visit to LaNDER³-Halle, Prof. Jens Weber and Prof. Jakob Hildebrandt presented their current research projects and answered questions from the interested social scientists. After a joint lunch and networking break, the TRAWOS members moved on to the Celsiuz Co-Creation Lab and discussed transfer issues with Martin Kunack (Celsiuz), Prof. Matthias Kunick and Dipl.-Ing. Christoph Steffan(AQVA Synergy) and other discussion partners.
Whether it's the recycling of materials, the production of natural fiber-reinforced plastics or the development of municipal heating concepts - there are intersections with people and society everywhere. Whether it is the acceptance of new technologies, the need to deal with new heat storage concepts or simply the influence of research & development in the further development of our region - Lusatia. In the diversity of Zittau's research topics, many connections can be made to social science perspectives - education, understanding innovation to social innovation or the question of the inclusion of gender equality issues in science.
The advantages of the university with its two locations are reflected in the interdisciplinary cooperation. The Zittau colleagues have been invited to Görlitz and the exchange is to be continued on an ongoing basis.
As part of the DISENTANGLE project, the TRAWOS Institute, together with two partner institutions, is linking the specialist expertise at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in the field of sustainable development and making it suitable for interdisciplinary use in complex research projects in the context of tackling interlinked sustainability problems. All information on the project can be found here.
