Berufepark 2017 in Zittau

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences also offers exciting opportunities for 10th grade graduates.

The Zittau careers park takes place annually at three secondary schools in Zittau and provides pupils in years 7 to 10 with early career guidance. In the familiar surroundings of their schools, the young people gain a comprehensive insight into the training opportunities offered by their home town. The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences was on site at the Zittau Park School and presented itself as an institution with diverse future prospects for future 10th grade graduates.

First and foremost, apprenticeships appear to be of interest to secondary school students. The college also offers apprenticeships in the field of office management. The apprenticeship lasts three years and teaches students how to deal with the various processes in all areas of the administration of a relatively large institution in the context of the university.

The KIA+ program is aimed directly at 10th grade graduates. The participants are not only accompanied through the KIA course itself, but also beforehand on their way to the entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences, which is a prerequisite for studying. KIA stands for "cooperative studies with integrated training" and not only helps graduates to obtain a degree from a university of applied sciences, but also makes them chamber-certified skilled workers and excellent candidates on the job market thanks to the simultaneous training in a company.

And, of course, studying at the university is generally possible for anyone who completes their vocational baccalaureate after the 10th grade. Interested students can choose from a total of 34 degree courses to find the right one for them and start their studies at one of the most research-intensive universities of applied sciences in Germany.

Anyone who wasn't sure on Saturday whether they would be able to get to grips with everyday university life should take a closer look at the "Student University on Saturday". This gives pupils from year 9 onwards the opportunity to try out what studying feels like. Lectures, experiments and laboratory tours on various topics are offered on five Saturday dates. The next Student University is on March 11, 2017 and will focus on "Technology between simulation and reality".

There was also the opportunity to play. Even pupils who are rather skeptical about physics and mathematics were able to use the ExperiMINTe puzzle games on the touchscreen to discover that these subjects are anything but boring when applied.

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is therefore by no means just for high school graduates. If you are a graduate of a Zittau secondary school looking for a future and prospects in your home town, you would be well advised to take a look at the various courses on offer at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
