KMD Neithard Bethke from Zittau has been the choirmaster, conductor and initiator of the association since March 2009. Our approximately 30 choir members are mostly students of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, but also graduates who have remained loyal to the choir. We sing a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire and perform our own concerts around 4-5 times a year. Once a year, we prepare a large choral work with orchestral accompaniment and rehearse joint works with our partner choirs from Liberec.
No membership fee or similar is required to join the choir. However, we ask new choir members to make an appointment for a first meeting (don't be afraid of auditions!) and to make a conscious decision for the choir after the first rehearsals. For a good musical performance, it is important that every choir singer can be an active member. Leisure time is not neglected either! Whether it's a visit to the pub after rehearsal, choir weekends, choir hiking days, joint visits to the theater and opera or a choir trip - membership of the choir is varied and exciting! We enjoy traveling in the tri-border region and always meet interesting people through our choir work!
