Hello students from grade 11

Do you like chemistry as a school subject? Then take part in our ONLINE lectures on interesting CHEMISTRY topics. Here you will be on the trail of scientific phenomena in an understandable way.

This will help you at school and may also pave the way for you to study natural and environmental sciences later on.

Content and focus of this online lecture:

Chromatography - a process for separating mixtures of substances and
identifying substances

  • Introduction to chromatography: history, significance, application
  • The basic structure of chromatographic systems
  • The physical principles and mathematical description
  • Typical chromatographies used:
    - Thin layer chromatography (DC)
    - Gas chromatography (GC)
    - High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)

Our lecturer Prof. Dr. Jens Weber is a teacher and researcher at the HSZG with a focus on Physical Chemistry. He is Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Environmental Sciences.
