Exoskeletons in geriatric care

How can modern technology support older people and caregivers?

As a result of demographic change towards an ageing society, the use of modern technologies to support care staff is becoming increasingly important. Assistance technologies such as exoskeletons are being tested for this purpose. These support the musculoskeletal system of care staff during physically demanding activities.

But there are also many other technical aids that older people can find out about at the Vati Navigator and AAL-Lab Görlitz. However, such technologies will never completely replace the loving, caring hands of a human being, as Bill Pottharst explains. See for yourself:

I want to shape demographic change!

The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences offers a part-time Master's degree program in Social Gerontology to train managers to deal with the problems associated with demographic change. Applications are currently open!

I want to see more!

In a new video series, we show the diversity of preliminary research at the HSZG. These research projects are made possible with funds from the Saxon state parliament.
