The semiconductor industry is a central driver of innovation and economic development.
The International Business Conference 2025 brings together leading representatives from business, politics, and academia from Taiwan, Germany, and the Czech Republic to discuss the future of the industry, explore cooperation opportunities, and promote knowledge exchange.

Conference Objectives

  • Strengthening the economic region of Upper Lusatia by involving regional companies and highlighting economic potential
  • Developing skilled professionals for the semiconductor industry – presentation of new study programs at HSZG in cooperation with TU Liberec
  • International networking and knowledge exchange between universities, companies, and political stakeholders
  • Promoting cooperation for sustainable and resilient semiconductor production in Saxony

  • Representatives of the Taipei Representative Offices in Germany and the Czech Republic
  • Companies from the semiconductor industry, particularly from Saxony and the Liberec region
  • Political stakeholders at regional and national level (e.g. district administrators, mayors, representatives from federal and state levels)
  • Universities and research institutions related to the semiconductor industry, especially Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz and TU Liberec
  • Associations and institutions, including Silicon Saxony, Economic Council, business development agencies, and many others
  • Students and lecturers from technical and business-oriented study programs at HSZG
Program Highlights

Experts from business, academia, and politics from Germany, the Czech Republic, and Taiwan will give keynote presentations on the following topics:

  • The role of the semiconductor industry for Upper Lusatia and Europe, and the related development opportunities
  • Innovative industrial technologies in the field of semiconductors
  • Investments by TSMC/ESMC in Saxony and their potential impact on the regional economy
  • Targeted education and the promotion of skilled professionals for the semiconductor industry
  • Structuring international agreements in the German-Taiwanese context

Following the presentations, topic-specific Q&A sessions will provide space for discussion and exchange.

From 5:00 p.m.: Informal get-together and buffet to close the conference.
